Big Bright Light Show and Lagniappe in Downtown Rochester

The Big Bright Light Show will begin its fifth year with Lagniappe in Downtown Rochester on Monday, November 29. The lights will debut at 7pm and then will be lit from 6pm to Midnight through January 2.
More than 1.5 million lights will cover the buildings on Main Street beginning at the south bridge and extending all the way north to Romeo Road.
It really is a spectacular sight to see.
In the past there have been carolers, reindeer for the kids and even Santa. Don't know if these will be there this year. Neither the DDA website or facebook page give any information regarding these.
Surprised the lights and festivities don't begin a week earlier. The holiday shopping season begins Thanksgiving weekend.
Also, friends and family visit the Rochester area for the Thanksgiving weekend. The light show would be a great draw to dining and shopping in Downtown Rochester.

For those who do want a holiday feel and want to visit Santa - The village of Rochester Hills is decked out and Santa will be there to greet children of all ages. click on the link below for times and don't forget to bring your camera.

  1. Lori, great post, but as a seasoned journalist, you know that there is no formal place called "Downtown Rochester." There is only Rochester which has a downtown and which word should NOT be capitalized.
