Public Hearing on Proposed Washington Road Paving Wednesday

The Road Commission for Oakland County will be holding a public hearing on the proposed Washington Road Paving on Wednesday at Stoney Creek High School in Rochester Hills from 4-7pm.

I find it a bit ironic. They must only hold these because they have to, as they seem to ignore the input from the residents and the historic commission.

Perhaps that is why they hold it so early, so it is difficult for the residents to get there from work - no sense making it easy for folks to let you know what they think, especially if you don't want to hear it in the first place.

Read more about what the RCOC proposed in my earlier post regarding this subject.

  1. Laurie: As you are aware, the input received at these public meetings is considered very seriously by the Road Commission. As you know, many significant changes were made to the Tienken Road bridge project based on input received at the numerous public meetings we had concerning that project. We will review all comments received at the Washington meeting in the same light.

  2. I can assure you this Rochester City Council member paid great attention to the Tienken project controversy and will avoid that at all costs. Couldn't agree more on the timing of these meetings. Very hard for me to leave my job during the day (the one that pays me) to go attend to this business. I have received numerous communications from very concerned residents and fully intend to shine bright lights in very dark corners.
