Vacant Rochester Council Seat Filled

Last night the Rochester City Council once again took on the task of filling the seat vacated by Jeff Matis after he was elected in November as Oakland County Commissioner.
At a previous meeting, the council was deadlocked 3 to 3 on potential candidates. The candidates were: Cathy Daldin, Michael Doran, Robert Fattore, Nate Lundsten, Thomas Mines, Ann Peterson, Steve Sage and Stanley Surratt.
Last night Steve Sage received affirmative votes from all residing council members. He began serving the remainder of the term immediately. The seat will be up for re-election in the fall.
Sage has served as Chairman of the Rochester Historical Commission, Chairman of the Great Rochester Heritage Days Festival committee and as a member of the City Beautiful Commission.
For more information on all of the candidates for appointment go to the city website
